The Virginia Advancing Cancer Control Engaged Research through Transformative Solutions (VA-ACCERT) Center will host the Closing the Gap Cancer Summit on Saturday, July 19, in Waitzer Hall. This free, half-day event will bring together researchers, community members and local partner organizations to address the emotional and psychological impacts of cancer. Through personal stories, expert presentations and interactive roundtable discussions, participants will explore innovative, community-driven approaches to supporting mental and emotional health in cancer care. VA-ACCERT will be distributing a call for project proposals to respond to the priorities identified during the summit. Projects will be awarded up to $50,000 annually for two years. At least one of the project lead must attend the summit to submit a proposal. .听
