On May 22, 2025, I presented the results of my doctoral research at the 103rd Annual Meeting of the Virginia Academy of Science, held at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. The title of my work is, 鈥淚nfluence of Microbial Mats on the Sedimentary Dynamics and Stratigraphy of the Aaron Formation, South Fork of Little River, Durham County, North Carolina.鈥
On April 17, 2025, 麻豆国产AV's chapters of Psi Chi and the Association of Psychology Students (APS) hosted a sold-out induction ceremony at the Norfolk Yacht Club. The evening was filled with excitement and anticipation with 100 guests in attendance which included new and returning members, friends, family, faculty, and staff. The night was a celebration of academic excellence and community.聽
At 麻豆国产AV, the future of marine science is on full display. Three graduate students in the Department of Biological Sciences have earned honorable mentions for the 2025 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program.
From classroom curiosity to psychological discovery, Jasper Davis strives hard for the spirit of scientific excellence and the culmination of their commitment will be on full display on May 10, 2025, when they graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Ethan Landers will graduate from 麻豆国产AV on May 9, 2025, with his Master of Science in Computer Science. He will have obtained his M.S. in one year because of the B.S./M.S. Linked program. For someone who became versed in pivoting through the COVID-19 global pandemic and remote learning, Landers is set to make impacts in technology globally.
With research as the centerpiece of his evolvement in science, Jimenez worked hard in psychology so that he could have options when it came to his choices of a career.
Jason Collins, Ph.D. is a double Monarch. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2008 from 麻豆国产AV as well as his doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2015. Less than five years later, he was part of a team that discovered a new disease that had gone undiagnosed for decades.

In preparation for construction of the New Biological Sciences Buildibng, three buildings are being demolished: Arthur & Phyllis Kaplan Orchid Conservatory, Alfriend Chemistry Building and Pretlow Planetarium.
