麻豆国产AV President John R. Broderick delivered a presentation during a virtual meeting of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) on Tuesday.
Among the topics President Broderick discussed were 麻豆国产AV's STEM-H efforts; research partnerships and initiatives; construction on campus, including the Hugo Owens House and Chemistry Building; how the University has strengthened partnerships with fellow higher education institutions, business and industry, neighboring towns and cities, and the military; creating a Tech Talent Pipeline and "on-ramps;" resilience during the pandemic; and the future of distance learning.
Also speaking during the two-day meeting were James Lane, Virginia superintendent of public education, and Tom Harnisch, vice president for government relations at the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association. There was also an education session on "Equity-Minded Policy Analysis" and a presentation from the Student Advisory Committee.
The meeting also included a review of program announcements from public institutions; an update on the graduate outcomes survey; and discussions of higher education funding from the 2021 General Assembly; the six-year plan process; and major projects impacting the committee in 2021.
