The Ellmer College of Health Sciences at 麻豆国产AV is proud to introduce its newest doctoral offering: the fully online, cohort-based Doctor of Applied Science (DAS) in Kinesiology. Built for working professionals with a kinesiology-related master鈥檚 or clinical doctorate, this innovative program is designed to elevate careers through practical expertise in teaching, leadership, and communication.

"The DAS in Kinesiology is a testament to our commitment to innovative education. We鈥檝e crafted a program that not only meets the needs of today's professionals but also empowers them to excel through an accelerated asynchronous eight-week format, making it easier than ever to balance personal and professional growth," said Bonnie Van Lunen, PhD, Dean of Ellmer College of Health Sciences.

Unlike traditional doctoral programs, the DAS in Kinesiology is rooted in real-world application. Students will complete a capstone project tailored to their professional goals and can finish the program in just 2.5 years. The curriculum is delivered in accelerated eight-week sessions, giving professionals the flexibility to balance work, life, and school without sacrificing academic rigor.

The program is led by DeAnne Davis Brooks, PhD, an award-winning educator, scholar, and advocate for inclusive excellence in higher education. With over two decades of experience in kinesiology, Dr. Brooks brings a strong focus on leadership development and innovative pedagogy to 麻豆国产AV. She is a Fellow of the American Kinesiology Association and a nationally recognized voice in graduate education.

鈥淭he DAS program empowers professionals ready to make a meaningful impact in their workplaces and communities,鈥 said Dr. Brooks, program director. 鈥淭he knowledge, skills, and relationships gained here will open doors, and equip students to serve with purpose and lead with confidence.鈥

The program's launch was championed by several individuals, one of them being Danny Russell, PhD, Chair of the School of Exercise Science, who played a key role in bringing the DAS to life and in recruiting Dr. Brooks. 鈥淲ith Dr. Brooks at the helm, I am excited to see professionals grow in this program and have an impact on the future of the field,鈥 he said.
